A key focus of our ceremonial & local commemorative activity will be events aligned to the opening of the new Roscommon County Council Civic Offices in early 2016. This is a symbolic development in the centenary year of the Rising and will include a cultural commemorative narrative exhibition entitled “Story of Roscommon, while also being the formal venue for the flag raising and the proclamation. Special commemorative events to recognise people from the County connected with events of the period together with archival, artefacts and memorabilia exhibitions are also part of the this strand of the programme.
